Student opportunities and activities
At Glen William Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.
Our programs include:
- School sport, athletics and inter-school competitions
- Primary School Sports Association knockouts
- Amplify music and drama
- Cultural activities, incursions and excursions
- Excursions and incursions supporting curriculum
- Public speaking
- Student leadership opportunities
- Activities that support high potential and gifted learners.
- School support for other extra-curricula activities (eg. Horse Sports, Starstruck)

Our extra-curricular highlights
Public speaking and Leadership opportunities
Students are encouraged to participate in annual in-school public speaking activities. Students may be selected to progress to the inter-school competitions.
Student leadership positions are available to Stage 3 students. The 'Leader-Reader' program supports pre-schools in the local are. Students visit and read with small groups of children.
School leadership is democratically voted by the students and staff in Term 4 and announced at our annual Presentation event.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. The Amplify program offers resources for music, dance and drama. Our students regularly experience the Raw Art incursion in addition to the visual art program.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences support in-class learning and extend the student's experiences in the outside world.
Sporting Opportunities
Glen William Public School participates in NSW PSSA Knockout competitions. We have successfully competed at Small Schools State competition in 2024 and 2025.
This year we came 4th at the State Touch Football finals day!
